Our licorice tea is made from a base of Assam black tea. Often associated with English flavors, this tea develops a spicy and tannic flavor. In our infusion, organic Assam black tea is softened by the presence of licorice root. Rich in glycyrrhizin, licorice root develops sweet notes. This is followed by the powerful flavor of anise, a sweet aroma that takes your taste buds back to the realm of childhood. The finish is characterized by the honeyed scent of blueberry flower that prolongs the journey of your palate.
Our licorice tea is composed of plants with multiple health benefits. Assam black tea, the base of the tea, is known for its benefits on cardiovascular health. Licorice root is rich in glycyrrhizin. Known for its sweet taste, glycyrrhizin has anti-inflammatory properties. It relieves hypotension, but presents dangers for the cardiovascular health of hypertensive and cardiac patients.
