Gyokuro means "drops of jade". Mikoto is an ancient Japanese term for the emperor. This green tea is one of the most refined varieties of shade tea.
Only the softest leaves from the first days of spring are used. Gyokuro Mikoto tea is grown in Japan in the city of Kagoshima on the island of Kyūshū. Connoisseurs will appreciate its emerald green needles, light green cup full of freshness, and tangy, sweet flavor.

In fact, it has a (slightly) different taste to the basic green tea. A light taste that some will appreciate, others less so, which is my case. Given its price and this particular slight taste, I prefer a "simple" Chun Mee. (Translated review)
Hello Bruno, Thank you for taking the time to share your review of our Gyokuro green tea. We're sorry to hear that it didn't fully meet your expectations. Gyokuro is indeed known for its subtle and distinct taste, which can vary considerably according to personal preferences. It is appreciated for its delicate, less astringent notes compared to other types of green tea, which makes it unique. We understand, however, that every palate is different, and what may be a delight to some may not be to others. If you'd like to explore other teas that might better match your expectations, I'd be happy to make some personalized recommendations. Thank you again for your constructive criticism. We hope to have the opportunity to serve you again and find a tea that will fully delight you. Sincerely, Julien / Thés & Traditions
