At a glance: Organic Orange Oolong, a semi-oxidised tea blended with orange peel (16%) and mango. Brew at 80°C, 2 to 4 min, 12-15g/L. A fruity, sun-filled cup to enjoy any time of day.

Picture a cup with warm amber hues, where the velvety roundness of a semi-oxidised Oolong meets the brightness of orange peel and the sweet flesh of mango. Our organic Orange Oolong is a flavourful blend crafted for those who love fruity teas — not too vegetal, not too roasted.

Julien Huot, founder of the house, composed this blend to offer a moment of sunny warmth. Explore our organic Oolong teas to discover the full breadth of our selection.

The Aromatic Profile of Orange Oolong

This tea is built around an organic China Oolong, a semi-oxidised tea that sits in a unique space between green and black tea. Its partial oxidation gives it a natural roundness, a silky texture and gently honeyed notes.

Up front, the zesty freshness of orange peel (16% of the blend) delivers an immediate burst of sunshine. It's a lively, joyful aroma that evokes Mediterranean orchards at the end of summer.

At the heart, a natural orange flavour carries that fruity character forward with warmth and depth. Pieces of organic dried mango add an exotic, lightly sweet touch that softens the blend as a whole.

In the finish, the China Oolong unfolds its tender vegetal notes and a gently woody aftertaste. The balance is delicate: not too sweet, not too tannic, with a long, silky finish. Try this blend alongside our peach and vanilla Oolong or our almond and chocolate Oolong, two indulgent variations on the same semi-oxidised style.

How to Brew Orange Oolong

A great Oolong comes down to three things: the water, the temperature, and the time. Brewing too hot or too long would overwhelm the delicate brightness of the orange peel.

Water: use filtered or low-mineral water to let the fruity aromas shine without any chalky interference.

Quantity: allow 12 to 15 grams per litre, roughly a heaped tablespoon for a 500ml teapot. A generous measure that brings out the full roundness of the semi-oxidised leaf.

Temperature: heat the water to 80°C. Any hotter and the tea risks turning bitter, with the orange losing its freshness.

Time: steep for 2 to 4 minutes, depending on your preference. A shorter infusion gives a delicate, floral cup; a longer one deepens the fruit character.

A tip from our house: this tea takes beautifully to a second infusion. Simply add an extra minute and discover a new layer of aroma. Try it iced in summer too: double the quantity and cold-brew in the fridge for 6 hours. For more, see our guide on how to brew Oolong tea.

Storing Your Orange Oolong

Packed in our workshop, this tea keeps best in its original tin, away from light, moisture and strong odours. A well-sealed metal caddy in a dry cupboard will preserve its fruity aromas for 18 to 24 months.

Avoid the fridge: humidity quickly dulls the orange peel and mango. Seal the pouch carefully after each use to keep every cup as vivid as the first.
